Southside Skatepark is proud to partner with Trees of Hope to support families at Star of Hope in Houston, Texas through a special Back-to-School Shoe Giveback event.
The families living at Star of Hope are working hard to get back on their feet. Star of Hope provides a safe and stable place for families as they work toward building a better future — including access to housing, education, employment opportunities, and the resources they need to create lasting stability.
For students getting ready to head back to school, having a new pair of shoes can mean much more than simply having something new to wear. It can provide confidence, comfort, and a sense of normalcy as they begin another school year.
The Skateboarding Community Steps Up
When Southside Skatepark learned about the opportunity to help with the Back-to-School Shoe Giveback, we reached out to some of our footwear partners throughout the skateboarding industry to see if they would be willing to contribute.
The response was incredible.
New Balance Numeric, ASICS, adidas, and Vans all stepped up to support the event and help provide footwear for young people at Star of Hope.
We are incredibly grateful to each of these brands for recognizing the importance of giving back and for helping us put new shoes on the feet of kids who are working toward a brighter future.
This is one of the things we love most about skateboarding. Our community has always been built around people coming together, supporting one another, and making sure that the next generation has opportunities to succeed.
Supporting Trees of Hope
Trees of Hope is a philanthropic organization that works tirelessly to raise funds and awareness in support of Star of Hope and the families they serve here in Houston.
Through fundraising, community partnerships, and events like this Back-to-School Shoe Giveback, Trees of Hope helps provide meaningful support to families during important moments in their journey.
This fall, Trees of Hope will host its annual Trees of Hope Gala, bringing together supporters from throughout Houston with the goal of raising record-breaking funds for Star of Hope and the programs that help families move forward.

Being able to work alongside Trees of Hope, Star of Hope, and our footwear partners to help local families prepare for the upcoming school year is something we are truly proud of.
