FREE 1 day Skateboarding Day Camp courtesy of Element Skateboards Aug. 6th.  Email your skateboarder’s name and age to info@southsideskatepark.com to secure your FREE day of Skate Camp by Aug 2nd, spaces are limited!  This is the last Southside Skatepark Skate Day Camp of the summer running August 6-9th and if you are thinking of attending the remaining 3 days August 7-9th there is easy Online Enrollment.  We do offer flexible attendance to help even our busiest families attend but the only FREE day available is Aug. 6th.  Southside Skatepark would like to thank Element Skateboards and their Skate Camp Scholarship program for allowing us to provide this Day of Camp Aug. 6th to more families than ever before.

Your skateboarder will be grouped based on skill level and an instructor will help them improve as much as we are able.  Jason’s Deli Kids Meal orders will be taken at check-in.  Daily Southside Skatepark Admission wristbands provided.  That allows your skateboarder to stay and skateboard after 2 pm when Southside Skatepark opens to the public. This is also great for parents that may have a conflict and can not pick up immediately at the end of camp.  Southside Skatepark is indoor allowing our skateboarding camp to take place rain or shine.  We have been hosting skateboard day camps for a little over fifteen years.  We are always amazed at how much the skateboarders progress in such a short time.  Some basic goals for our beginners are learning to ride the transition ramp features of the skatepark.  This is in hopes of teaching them to drop in on the mini ramp or quarter pipe.  We do have more advanced skateboarders enroll also.  We accommodate them by suggesting challenging new ideas that they can apply to their current skill set towards achieving.  Read more about the Element Skateboards Scholarship program below!

“We couldn’t be more excited to make this contribution to the skateboarding community.”

Earlier this week, Element announced that they will be donating 300 skate camp scholarships to deserving skateboarders this year. This marks the most that Element has ever donated in the program’s 15-year history and was made possible by Element’s own skate camps in Spain, Japan, South Africa and now Australia, skate shop partners, and the Element skateboards team.  Although the scholarship program was established 15 years ago, Element Founder, Johnny Schilleref has had a relationship with skateboard camps long before Element was even launched in 1992.element-skate-camp-scholarship-article

Schilleref said that growing up, skateboarding camps were very important in his life.

“I moved around a lot and did not have much stability when I was young,” Schilleref said in the press release. “Camp and skateboarding were the only constants in my life. Being able to share skateboarding and the outdoors with kids who are in a similar situation that I was – is so important to both Element and myself. We couldn’t be more excited to make this contribution to the skateboarding community.”

Element would like to thank the following camps for their generosity and shared vision!

Windell’s, Skate Dogs, All Together Skate Park, Skate Lab, 3rd Lair, Skate Park of Tampa, Woodward, Shreducate, Familia, Modern, Plus Skate Park, Tri-Star Skate Park, Skater’s Edge, Basics of Skateboarding, Nyjah Huston’s Skate Park, Southside Skate Park, Theory Skate Park, and 6th Ave Skate Park.
