Street and Bowl Contest March 14th, 2020

Street and Bowl GROM is a skateboarding contest with a focus on our next generation of skateboarders. Southside Skatepark is proud to be able to host an event like this to let all of our new skateboarding families know we are here to support them. We will be running both boys and girls divisions in the following age groups. Nine and under, ten to twelve years old and thirteen to fifteen years old. It is $25 to enter Street GROM and $25 to enter Bowl GROM. These funds support the judging, prize packs and Southside Indoor Skatepark facility that helps make all of this possible.

We, Will, Be Launching the Contest in the Bowl with 9 and Under Girls Riding First No Later then 12:30 pm

We will run all divisions girls than boys in the Bowl to start our day and then move on to the Street Course after. Doors open at 11 am Saturday, March 14th for warm-up. We will be launching the contest in the bowl with 9 and Under girls riding first no later then 12:30 pm. The contest format in the bowl will be round-robin jam format in which each rider will be given three runs. Each heat in each age division will be comprised of no more than three riders. We will have three judges on hand scoring between 70 and 100. The three judges’ scores are determined by the overall skateboarding impression made by the skateboarder during their three runs. An average of the three judges’ scores will go on to create each rider’s final score and determine their place overall.

We Will Run All Divisions Girls than Boys on the Street Course Immediately Upon the Conclusion of the Bowl GROM Event. We Do Plan to Announce Bowl GROM Winners in Each Age Division BEFORE Beginning the Street GROM Event on the Street Course.

We will run all divisions girls than boys on the Street Course immediately upon the conclusion of the Bowl GROM event. We do plan to announce Bowl GROM winners in each age division before beginning the Street GROM event on the street course. We would anticipate beginning the Street portion of the event by 3 pm Saturday and registration continues until the age division begins. We will begin on the street course with 9 and Under girls riding first and 9 and Under boys riding immediately after. The contest format on the street course will be a three-rider jam format in which each heat of three riders will skateboard the street course for 5 minutes. We will have three judges on hand scoring between 70 and 100. The three judges’ scores are determined by the overall skateboarding impression made by the skateboarder during their 5-minute street course jam. An average of the three judges’ scores will go on to create each rider’s final score and determine their place overall.

It is Our Goal to Conduct this Event as Efficiently as Possible. We Take Great Pride on Delivering a Positive Experience for All Those On Hand. We Do Plan to Announce Street GROM Winners in Each Age Division Immediately After and Hope You Will Join Us.
