Majer Things Premiere and Lock In Dec. 2, 2017 9pm-8am with Majer Crew

It’s time to witness the Majer Crew in the streets in their Majer Things video premiere at Southside Skatepark Dec. 2, 2017.  Majer Crew has been doing Holiday Lock In’s with Southside Skatepark for the last three years.  We have all had some great times and the skateboarding from Majer Skateboards has been amazing.  Below are pics and a video capturing everything that went down at the last Majer Lock In.  Always the same admission fees for Lock Ins, Members $25 and Non-Members $35.  This time not only do you get to attend the Majer Lock In but you get to witness with the team, their all new in the streets video Majer Things.

Majer Crew Lock In Looked Like this at Southside Skatepark

Southside Skatepark’s most recent Majer Crew Lock In had the pleasure of hosting Edinburg, Texas’ Majer Crew, a group of Texas rippers who have amassed a solid following on social media.

What started as another rainy day at Southside Skatepark ended up becoming a slippery day in the park. The Houston humidity is relentless and found away to seep into the park even with the cargo doors firmly shut. We weren’t about to let that stop the all out mayhem that is the Majer Crew Lock In. Embracing the slick floors, we started the night off with a power slide contest. Simple and straight forward, go fast and hold the longest power slide and be crowned king of the slip and slide. After a fifteen minute jam format, and many hippers, Jay was announced as the winner.

This is where that Mayhem and Insanity of the Majer Lock In began coming into play!

The next event was an all out jam format best trick contest on the pyramid and hip. This is where that mayhem and insanity of the Majer Crew Lock In began coming into play. It was complete anarchy. Like a poorly choreographed version of the Boom Boom Huck Jam with kids trying tricks over the pyramid and hip at the same time. Somehow, and thankfully, every one walked away relatively unscathed. After another fifteen minutes of slips and slams, San Antonio homie, Daniel took the winner’s slot with a fatty to flatty last second Benihana over the pyramid.

Midnight Pizza dinner of Little Caesars commenced shortly after with Big O handling the Servings

After everyone got their fill of pepperoni and cheese slices, it was on to the high ollie contest, and what better way to do it than measuring ollies with pizza boxes. Turns out, ollieing twenty two pizza boxes was no big deal for these dudes. The high ollie contest then pivoted to a best trick over the pizza boxes contest. I’m not sure exactly who won that one, but I do know Majer’s Mikey Whitehouse got a ollie sex change over the boxes so let’s say he won the demo. Maybe we can work out a deal with Little Ceasar’s for some free pizzza in exchange for that photo. What do you say @littlecaesars do we have ourselves a deal?

While taking a break in the shop, I overheard the little homie, nugget, a ten year old local ripper asking his dad if he could get some pop tarts. I interjected by saying I’d pay for his pop tart if he did a couple tricks for me in the bowl. After getting a couple solid photos, the kid got his pop tart. There’s worse ways to spend a dollar, so it was worth it in my book.

Shout out to Majer Crew for holding it down and Southside Skatepark for giving kids a place to skate all night and have a good time.

The next mini contest was held on the six stair and rails. By this point, everyone had seemed to wise up on how incredibly sketchy an idea that was so it just turned into a little session instead of best trick contest. Even then, hats off to the dudes that were skating it, since they were essentially landing on black ice. The Majer dudes put on a little demo for the kids and decided to stop while they were ahead before one of them ended up getting smoked.

I dipped out shortly after that, but I can assume the good times kept going at the Majer Crew Lock In after I left. After all, there was the donut breakfast to give everyone a sugar rush to push them through that last hour of skating all night.
