This is a major announcement for Southside Skatepark as we have been on an event hiatus due to worldly events for quite some time. It’s time to get back to who we are and cast a spotlight on this region’s very best skateboarders.

Drink Weird has Committed Two $250 Donations to the Two Local Skateboarding-Focused Non-Profits of Our Choice

At the same time Drink Weird has committed two $250 donations to the two local skateboarding-focused non-profits of our choice. DTP Foundation does multiple feeds across the city while riding their boards accessing areas of need that are unreachable by vehicle. They literally bring food, non-perishables, and hygienic products to those in need where they are located across the City of Houston. Friends of Eastwood is a non-profit organization raising money to upgrade Eastwood Skatepark for the entire Eastside community. They also support those in need on the east side by connecting them with gently used skateboarding products and more.

Yeah, but What’s the Format?

We anticipate a contest format of various 5 person heats, cycling through 2, 45 second runs best-run counts, finishing with an immediate 5-minute jam. Combining your best run score and jam score to create a final score. We may have to do a finals jam depending on how close the field is after computation. The 45-second runs reveal show us that you understand how to ride your board and are consistent. Whereas the Jam at the end of your heat gives you an opportunity to land some of your hardest tricks in front of all your friends and family. The best part is that contests always bring out the very best in skateboarders and we are looking forward to seeing everyone here in support of our Spring Break Street Contest presented by Weird Water and Roger Skateboards on March 12, 2022!

Yeah, but What Do We Win?

There will be Trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd in 16 & Under, 17 & Up, and Sponsored. The Sponsored Division 1st Place $500, 2nd Place $350, and 3rd Place $150. Prize Packs from Roger Skateboards help us create solid Prize Packs for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in 16 & Up and 17 & Under.
