Super Bowl Houston Skateboard Contest happened Feb. 4th 2017 Southside Skatepark

We wanted to get all of our friends together for a fun contest here at Southside Skatepark.  What better way to celebrate hosting the actual Super Bowl here in Houston.  Getting together for a solid session and a chance to win some cash and prizes sounds liked like a good idea.  We started The Super Bowl Contest off at 2pm in the Bowl.  Then we went to the Street Course for more solid skateboarding.  The $20 entry fee allowed you to skateboard in both events.  Those entering the contest were also welcome to stay and skate the park until 9pm close.  It was great to see everyone at Southside Skatepark skating hard before hanging with family and friends the next day to watch the actual Super Bowl.

Thank You to Everyone who Watched Commented Shared Super Bowl Houston Skateboard Contest during the Facebook LIVE Stream

super-bowl-houston-skateboard-contestFacebook LIVE was a great new way to engage our audience.  You were able to comment tricks you want to see done during The Super Bowl Contest and we let the skateboarders know.  Many of your suggestions were possible and cash and product were awarded as they accomplished your requests.  It was an amazing way to bring more people into the contest and be more inclusive with those unable to attend.  Even people were here were able to get on their phone and comment on the Facebook LIVE stream.  It was really awesome seeing people knock out tricks that the Facebook Live Comment Feed suggested they try.  Southside Skatepark would like to thank the 26 Shares, 2000 views and 56 comments that took place during the event.  We learned that the street version of a Facebook Live Shared contest works best if we contain it to an obsticle by obsticle jam and plan on doing that in the future.  Thank you once again for your support and interest in our skateboarding scene here in Houston, Texas.
