Southside’s Response to COVID-19
Southside Skatepark in South Houston and Southside Skateshop at Westheimer/Wilcrest are here to serve you.  These are difficult times for all, but it is our goal to provide you a sense of normalcy.  We will continue to keep normal hours of operation and increase our efforts disinfecting high traffic touching areas.
We are increasing the cleaning of check out/check-in counters, door handles, bathrooms, and other high-traffic and high-touch areas.  We will be doing this at the beginning and end of every shift.

Skateboarding can help get you at least 20 minutes of low to moderate-intensity exercise to boost your immune system.  This movement results in the production of more white blood cells, which combat bacteria and viruses, and promotes improved circulation.

We respectfully request that if you are not feeling well, please reschedule your visit for when you are feeling better, for the safety of our staff and other customers.

We are confident that our skatepark and shops are safe, and we look forward to welcoming you to Southside as we have for 26 years.  With your support, we will overcome this situation together.  If you have any questions for us please respond to this email and we will try to answer in a timely manner.

New Date TBA! Southside Skatepark in Houston, Texas will host the 11th Annual Old Man Bowl Jam, Music Festival, and BBQ Date TBA. In the first ten years, the event has grown significantly. Last year Bowl O Cones came in to being on the Sunday morning after OMBJ. This year we introduce Old Man Street for the first time happening Sunday Date TBA. An obvious reason would be that more riders becoming age-eligible to participate in a Street Contest like this. Call it a Skatepark of Houston revival or just an all-out good time with your friends who you almost never see anymore. Whatever it is we can tell you it’s here to stay.

Support the 1st Annual Old Man Street Jam at Our Kickstarter!

Registration is easy and you can complete it at our Kickstarter. These preliminary funds help cover our initial operational budget to deliver the best experience possible. Register for whatever level of participation you are able. We are stoked to be able to bring this expanded event back to Houston. We believe that the skateboarders that literally paved the way for skateboarding today should be recognized for their contributions.  The goal of the weekend is to bring them together to ride and remember the impact they made as they literally blazed a trail for today’s skateboarder.
