Let’s Celebrate Our Younger Skateboarder Wave with a Street and Bowl contest this Saturday!
This Saturday join us to celebrate our younger skateboarder wave with a Street and Bowl contest that is all about them. If you are a parent finding themselves at the skatepark with your little skateboarders then you are a parent of a Grom! If you are actively running a little IG page and posting your skateboarder’s evolution then you know what we mean when we say Grom.
Southside has done its best to conceptualize four age groups in an effort to break up the fields of skateboarders in what should be a few solid small-group heats.
Street and Bowl Contest Format
The contest format will consist of 2 40 second runs best run counts and a 3-minute small group jam for bonus points.
In the Bowl this will be a “round robin jam” one at a time
Judging Criteria for Bowl and Street
Overall impression during the two 40-second runs
Judges analyze commitment, creativity, use of the entire ramp or course, distance traveled through grinds and slides, speed, style, flow, and power. Lines carry weight, but innovation and difficulty are rewarded.

2:30pm 16 and Up Bowl
Winners will be awarded just before the next age group runs; we understand many families have multiple commitments this weekend.
