We are Celebrating 30 Years of “Your Skateboarding is Our Priority” in a Variety of Ways
Since that time we have hosted so many amazing moments in skateboarding and this Friday, June 14, 2024 we plan to once again host an amazing event at Southside Skatepark. We are celebrating 30 years of “Your Skateboarding is Our Priority” in a variety of ways. The day begins with free skateboarding at 2 pm for everyone who will be celebrating with us. Check out the shoe tent blowout we will be hosting in the parking lot. It’s going to be full of really great skateboarding footwear from all of the majors at amazing discounts. Spitfire Wheels x Southside Skatepark Wheel and Apparel capsule will also be made available. Sometime around 7 pm we will start to slow down some of the skateboarding with a Sean Balusek photo show most likely set up on our brand new Vert Ramp’s flat-bottom. Beverage support from Eureka Heights will be on hand keeping us hydrated as we wait for the sun to go down to run the first of two new videos being premiered. As of this time we do not know which video will be premiered first, the Spitfire Wheels Hollywood Martinez video filmed and edited by Eric Nyguyen, or the Southside 30-Year video filmed by many of us and edited by John Danielson. This entire event is also serving as a “Welcome to Houston” gathering for all of the invited skateboarders that have made their way to Houston to participate in Red Bull Keys to the City presented by Southside Skatepark at Tranquility Park the following day Saturday June 15, 2024.

Opportunities to Give Away $6000 in Cash for Tricks at a Legendary Houston, Texas Skateboarding Landmark Do Not Happen Very Often
Preparations for Red Bull Keys to the City happening June 15, 2024, have been ongoing this week with Dakota and Bigo putting in the sweat equity to bring this vision into reality. Opportunities to give away $6000 in Cash for Tricks at a legendary Houston, Texas landmark do not happen very often. Let’s be totally honest, something like this has never happened in Houston, ever. In fact, the event itself has been in the works for almost two years. It has taken quite a bit of communication between Red Bull affiliates and various entities, that manage this great city, to come to an understanding. As the presented by endemic partner, Southside Skatepark is going above and beyond to make sure the event is anything and everything any of us would hope it would be. Red Bull is also bringing in a ton of infrastructure to help make sure everyone is as comfortable as possible throughout the day. We are hopeful that once we have a proven concept maybe we could do something like this again. There are no guarantees that there will be a next time, so at this time we have been hard at work in preparation. Check out the photos of our progress below.
